Bhagavad Gita 8.7

1) सब समय में मेरा स्मरण करने के लिये कहने का तात्पर्य है कि यद्यपि समय कार्यों के विभाग से विभक्त है (यह समय सोने का है, यह काम करने का है आदि) परन्तु कृष्ण के स्मरण के लिए समय का विभाग नहीं होना चाहिये। कृष्ण को तो सब समय में ही याद रखना चाहिये।
2) मनुष्य को जो कर्तव्य रूप से प्राप्त हो जाये, उसको कृष्ण का स्मरण करते हुए करना चाहिये। परन्तु उसमें कृष्ण का स्मरण मुख्य होना चाहिये और कर्तव्य कर्म को गौण मानना है।
3) मेरे में मन, बुद्धि अर्पण कर देने का साधारण अर्थ है कि मन से कृष्ण का चिन्तन हो और बुद्धि से उनकी प्राप्ति का निश्चय किया जाये। किन्तु वास्तविक अर्थ है- मन, बुद्धि, इन्द्रियाँ, शरीर आदि को कृष्ण का ही मानना और भूल से भी इन्हें अपना न मानना। साधक जब तक इन्हें अपना मानेगा, इनमें अशुद्धियां रहेंगी ही और इस मान्यता की वजह से अन्य अनेक प्रकार की अशुद्धियाँ पैदा हो जाती है। इसलिये इन्हें कृष्ण के ही समझकर कृष्ण को ही अर्पण कर देना चाहिये।

1. “Think of me at all times” means that though other activities are performed according to the division of available time (time for working, time for sleeping, time of eating etc.) there is no such division of time in thinking of Krishna. We should think of Him at all times.
2. Whatever work comes to a man as his duty, he should perform it while remembering Krishna. The remembrance of Krishna should be the work of first importance and performance of duty should be secondary.
3. “Surrender mind and intellect to Me” would generally mean that a striver should think of Krishna with his mind and form a determination with his intellect to realize Him. However the true meaning of this injunction is that a man should regard mind, intellect, body etc as all belonging to Krishna and Krishna alone and never by any chance consider them as belonging to himself. As long as a striver regards them as belonging to him, they would necessarily contain impurities. These impurities would give rise to other impurities as well. Hence a striver should surrender them to Krishna recognizing them as belonging to Krishna only.
