Bhagavad Gita 15.17: Verse 17
उत्तमः पुरुषस्त्वन्यः परमात्मेत्युदाहृतः।
यो लोकत्रयमाविश्य बिभर्त्यव्यय ईश्वरः।।15.17।।
भावार्थ - Gist
परन्तु इन दोनों के अतिरिक्त एक श्रेष्ठ पुरुष है जिसे परमात्मा कहा जाता है, वह अविनाशी भगवान तीनों लोकों में प्रवेश करके सभी प्राणीयों का भरण-पोषण करता है৷৷15.17৷৷
But, apart from these(perishable and imperishable entities) is the Supreme Soul (Parmatma), the imperishable Lord Himself, who, penetrating the three worlds, sustains them all.
व्याख्या - Explanation
1) (क) उत्तम पुरुष को परमात्मा नाम से कहा जाता है। परमात्मा का अर्थ है- श्रेष्ठ आत्मा अथवा सम्पूर्ण जीवों की आत्मा। यह परमात्मा निर्गुण और सगुण दोनों हैं।
(ख) ईश्वर शब्द सगुण का वाचक माना जाता है, जिसका अर्थ है- शासन करने वाला।
2) यद्यपि कृष्ण सबका पालन पोषण करते हैं तथापि अज्ञानी मनुष्य को इस बात का पता नहीं रहता कि कृष्ण मेरा पालन पोषण कर रहे हैं। यह तो सिर्फ कृष्ण का भक्त जान पाता है कि वे (कृष्ण) ही सबका पालन पोषण कर रहे हैं। पालन पोषण में कृष्ण किसी का पक्षपात नहीं करते, सभी का समान रूप से पालन पोषण करते हैं। प्रत्यक्ष देखने में आता है कि सूर्य सबको समान रूप से प्रकाश देता है, पृथ्वी सबको समान रूप से धारण करती है, जठराग्नि सबके अन्न को समान रूप से पचाती है। वायु श्वास लेने के लिये सबको समानरूप से प्राप्त होती है।
1 The Supreme Person is spoken of as the Supreme Soul (Parmatma). The worf Parmatma denotes the Ultimate Divine spirit or the spirit within all living creatures. This Supreme soul both attributeless (Nirguna) and with attributes (Saguna)m is one and the same.
2 Another name for the Supreme Soul with attributes is “Ishwara”, which means “ruler and possessor of all glories.”
3 Even though Krishna is the one who nurtures all living beings, still the ignorant man is not aware that Krishna is nourishing him. It is only Krishna’s devotee who realizes that He (Krishna) is sustaining all creatures. Krishna does not make any distinctions while performing His role of presevers, but nourishes all creatures equally. We may see for ourselves that sun shines equally in all, the earth holds up all the creature equally the digestive fire digests the food equally in all bodies. The wind keeps up the life-breath in all creatures equally.
