Bhagavad Gita 15.20: Verse 20
इति गुह्यतमं शास्त्रमिदमुक्तं मयानघ ।
एतद्बुद्ध्वा बुद्धिमान्स्यात्कृतकृत्यश्च भारत ৷৷15.20৷৷
भावार्थ - Gist
हे निष्पाप अर्जुन! इस प्रकार यह शास्त्रों का अति गोपनीय रहस्य मेरे द्वारा कहा गया है, हे भरतवंशी जो मनुष्य इस परम-ज्ञान को इसी प्रकार से समझता है वह बुद्धिमान हो जाता है और उसके सभी प्रयत्न पूर्ण हो जाते हैं৷৷15.20৷৷
O sinless one! This utmost secret knowledge of all has been taught thus by Me. Having acquired this knowledge a man becomes wise, nothing remains to be done and whatever is worth acquiring is acquired by him.
व्याख्या - Explanation
1) गोपनीय बात दोष-दृष्टि से रहित मनुष्य के सामने ही कही जाती है। दोष दृष्टि वाला मनुष्य उस बात का उल्टा अर्थ लगाकर वक्ता में दोष देखने लगता है कि यह अपनी प्रशंसा खुद ही कर रहा है। इससे दोष दृष्टि वाले मनुष्य की बहुत हानि होती है।
2) दोष दृष्टि में खास कारण है- अभिमान। मनुष्य में जिस बात का अभिमान होता है, उस बात की उसमें कमी होती है।
3) भगवान् पृथ्वी पर मनुष्य का स्वांग धारण करके अवतरित होते हैं और ऐसा बर्ताव करते हैं कि अज्ञानी उन्हें नहीं जान पाते (7.24)। नाटक में अभिनेता का परिचय गुप्त रखा जाता है, किन्तु कृष्ण ने इस अध्याय में अपना परिचय देकर अत्यन्त गोपनीय बात प्रकट कर दी कि- ‘मैं ही पुरुषोत्तम हूँ।’ इसलिये इस अध्याय को गुह्यतम शास्त्र कहा है।
4) स्वयं कृष्ण के अतिरिक्त दूसरा कोई भी उनको पूर्ण रूप से नहीं जान सकता। (10.2 एवं 10.15)। अतः उनके विषय में जैसा वे कह सकते हैं, वैसा दूसरा कोई नहीं कह सकता। तभी कृष्ण कहते हैं कि मुझ पुरुषोत्तम के द्वारा यह गुह्यतम शास्त्र कृपापूर्वक कहा गया है।
1 The adjective “wise” here means one who has acquired that knowledge which is worth acquiring; the adjective “kritkritya” describes the one who has performed all worthwhile actions and “praptpratavya” means the one who has acquired everything which is worth acquiring.
2 Secret knowledge is revealed only to the one who is free from the critical and fault-finding tendency. A fault-finding person, when he hears about the true essence of Krishna, begins to doubt the speaker and to think ill of Him as He seems to be singing His own praises. This attitude causes great harm to the doubting person.
3 The chief reason behind doubting the word even of d Himself is pride or conceit.
4 When God descends to earth during his human incarnations, He assumes the appearance of a human form and conducts His daily affairs in such a way that ignorant people do not recognize Him (7.24). During a drama performance, the identity of the actor is kept hidden, but in this chapter Krishna, revealing His true identity, has laid open the secretmost essential truth that— “I Myself am Purshottam” (the Supreme Person). This is the reason why this chapter has been titled as “ Transcription of utmost secret knowledge “. Krishna alone and no one else has the capacity to know Him completely and essentially (10.2) and (10.15). It follows that no one else can speak about Him in the way that He can speak. Accordingly, Krishna clarifies that this revelation of the secretmost knowledge has been accomplished by Me as a token of My benediction.
