Bhagavad Gita 2.12: Verse 12
न त्वेवाहं जातु नासं न त्वं नेमे जनाधिपाः ।
न चैव न भविष्यामः सर्वे वयमतः परम् ॥2.12॥
भावार्थ - Gist
न तो ऐसा ही है कि मैं किसी काल में नहीं था, तू नहीं था अथवा ये राजा लोग नहीं थे और न ऐसा ही है कि इससे आगे हम सब नहीं रहेंगे॥2.12॥
In times long past I did not exist, nor did you and these warriors kings; to say this, or think this, is not true. Nor is it true that in times to come we (I, you and these royal warriors) will not exist.
व्याख्या - Explanation
It is true that I as Krsna, you as arjuna and these kings were not present in times past in their present identities and will not remain as such in times to come; but in their living selves they were there in the past and will remain so in future times. This body is subject to the effects of time, but the soul is beyond time.
