Bhagavad Gita 1.10: Verse 10
अपर्याप्तं तदस्माकं बलं भीष्माभिरक्षितम् ।
पर्याप्तं त्विदमेतेषां बलं भीमाभिरक्षितम् ।। 10।।
भावार्थ - Gist
हमारी वह सेना (पाण्डवों पर विजय करने में) अपर्याप्त है, असमर्थ है, (क्योंकि) उसके संरक्षक (उभय-पक्षपाती) भीष्म हैं; परन्तु इन पाण्डवों की यह सेना (हम पर विजय करने में) पर्याप्त है, समर्थ है, (क्योंकि) इसके संरक्षक (निज-सेना-पक्षपाती) भीमसेन हैं।
Our army is inadequate and is incapable of attaining victory over the Pandavas, since its guardian is Bhisma (whose loyalty lies with both the armies) while this Pandava’s army marshaled by Bhima, (with his unflinching loyalty to his own side) is sufficient and capable of conquering us.
व्याख्या - Explanation
दुर्योधन ने अपना भय प्रकट किया कि उसकी सेना पाण्डवों की सेना से बड़ी होते हुए भी जीतने में असमर्थ थी, क्योंकि वह भीष्म के नेतृत्व में थी। भीष्म उभय पक्षपाती थे, जबकि पाण्डवों की सेना भीमसेन के सरंक्षण में थी और वे निज सेना-पक्षपाती थे।
Here Duryodhana voices his fear that despite having a much larger and better equipped army, the Kauravas might end up losing the battle as their leaders were in favour of the both sides, while the Pandava forces were lead by Bhim who was a staunch supporter of his own side.
