Bhagavad Gita 9.14: Verse 14

सततं कीर्तयन्तो मां यतन्तश्च दृढ़व्रताः ।
नमस्यन्तश्च मां भक्त्या नित्ययुक्ता उपासते ॥9.14॥

भावार्थ - Gist

वे दृढ़ निश्चय वाले भक्तजन निरंतर मेरे नाम और गुणों का कीर्तन करते हुए तथा मेरी प्राप्ति के लिए यत्न करते हुए और मुझको बार-बार प्रणाम करते हुए सदा मेरे ध्यान में युक्त होकर अनन्य प्रेम से मेरी उपासना करते हैं॥9.14॥

The men who are constantly chanting My names and glories, striving purposefully and eagerly to reach their goal, worship Me with steadfast devotion, prostrating themselves before Me.

व्याख्या - Explanation

1) मनुष्य मात्र कृष्ण में ही हरदम लगे रह सकते हैं, सांसारिक भोग संग्रह में नहीं। कारण कि समय-समय पर भोगों से ग्लानि होती है और संग्रह से उपरति होती है। परन्तु भगवत्प्राप्ति का उद्देश्य एक दृढ़ विचार होता है, उसमें कभी फर्क नहीं पड़ता।
जैसे कि मैं अमुक का लड़का हूँ- यह भाव सदा ही बना रहता है, क्योंकि मैं अमुक का लड़का हूँ- यह भाव उसके मैं-पन में बैठ गया है। ऐसे ही मनुष्य का भगवान् के साथ जो स्वयं का सम्बन्ध है (मैं भगवान् का हूँ और भगवान् मेरे हैं), वह जाग्रत्, स्वप्न और सुषुप्ति सभी अवस्थाओं में बना रहता है, कभी खण्डित नहीं होता है। कृष्ण के साथ अपने इस प्रकार के सम्बन्ध को जान लेना ही नित्ययुक्त रहना है।
2) जिन्होंने भीतर से ही अपने मैं पन को बदल दिया है, कि हम कृष्ण के हैं और कृष्ण हमारे हैं, उनका यह दृढ़ निश्चय हो जाता है कि हम संसार के नहीं हैं और संसार हमारा नहीं है। अतः हमें सांसारिक भोग और संग्रह की तरफ जाना ही नहीं है।
3) भक्त कभी कृष्ण के नाम का प्रेमपूर्वक कीर्तन करते हैं, कभी नाम जप करते हैं, कभी पाठ करते हैं, कभी भगवत् सम्बन्धी बातें सुनाते हैं। वे जो कुछ वाणी सम्बन्धी क्रियाएँ करते हैं, वह सब कृष्ण का स्तोत्र ही होता है।

  1. Men can remain steadfast forever only in Krishna, not in material pleasures and accumulations. The reason is that from time to time they get disgusted with pleasures and lose the taste for accumulation. But the goal of attaining God , once firmly adopted, remains the same forever.
  2. As ‘ I am the son of X’ is always remembered because this thought has been deep-seated in a person’s consciousness, similarly the relationship of self with God is always maintained in all states viz while awake or dreaming or in deep sleep, it is never broken. To accept this relationship with Krishna is to remain steadfastly united with Him.Those who have removed the sense of I, me and mine from their hearts and have firmly accepted that we are Krishna’s and Krishna is ours, reach a clear understanding that we do not belong to the world and neither does the world belong to us. Hence we do not have to care at all for worldly pleasures and accumulations.
  3. Devotees sometimes lovingly chant Krishna’s name loudly (kirtan), sometimes remember Him in their hearts, sometimes read His glories and sometimes narrate His pastimes. Krishna is the source of all that they say.
