Bhagavad Gita 2.15: Verse 15
यं हि न व्यथयन्त्येते पुरुषं पुरुषर्षभ ।
समदुःखसुखं धीरं सोऽमृतत्वाय कल्पते ॥2.15॥
भावार्थ - Gist
क्योंकि हे पुरुषश्रेष्ठ! दुःख-सुख को समान समझने वाले जिस धीर पुरुष को ये इन्द्रिय और विषयों के संयोग व्याकुल नहीं करते, वह मोक्ष के योग्य होता है॥2.15॥
The reason being, O Arjun, supreme among men! That the wise man whom these sensuous pleasures do not stir to either joy or grief, who remains immovable and calm whether in joy or in sorrow, attains to divine immortality.
व्याख्या - Explanation
यह मनुष्य योनि हमें सुख-दुःख भोगने के लिये नहीं मिली है, वह तो जानवर भी भोगते ही हैं। जानवर और हमारे में अन्तर है। जानवर में यह विवेक नहीं होता कि वह जान सके कि वह आनन्द कैसे प्राप्त कर सकता है। परन्तु हम इस मनुष्य योनि में सुख-दुःख से ऊँचा उठकर परम आनन्द, परम शान्ति प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।
This human form has not been given to us to experience utmost sensual pleasure or blackest sensuous grief. Even animals have the capacity to feel joy and pain. However an animal does not possess the intelligence which would show him the way to divine bliss. But we in our human bodies are so endowed that we may rise above such earthly joys and griefs and achieve ultimate bliss and ultimate peace.
